I've noticed this question gets asked at least once or twice a week on the popular PSP help forums so I decided to post a tutorial on how to fix the "not enough memory error" for your PSP. There also seems to be a lot of confusion as to the difference between your memory card and your PSP unit's memory.
Oddly enough this error has absolutely nothing to do with the size of the memory card that you have in your PSP. Memory in this instance refers to the amount of RAM, or Random Access Memory, the PSP has. Each PSP has 4 Megabytes (MB) of fast DRAM, used for video or game resources, and 32 MB of embedded RAM, for system resources.
Memory Card
Unlike a computer RAM is something you cannot change or upgrade for the PSP. If you get this error you are left with these two options. If you have a lot of tabs open try closing the ones your aren't using. The PSP may not be capable of loading what you want because it lacks the resources. Restart your system and try to run the desired file as soon as your PSP starts up.
Again, this has nothing to do with the size of your memory stick. Memory sticks run out of storage space, not memory. The term memory should never be used when referring to your memory stick's storage capacity. The two share nothing in common. This statement is also true for other devices, such as your PC. Your computer's hard drive is not memory, but rather a storage device.
